My Bands - Bari Bari

Bari Bari is a tribute to the Hard Bop era that inspired John tremendously during his early years as a young trumpeter.  Bands led by Donald Byrd, Art Farmer and Chet Baker featured baritone saxophonists Gerry Mulligan and Pepper Adams,  bringing forth a unique doubling of sounds.  The sound of three baritone saxophones in this context is unparalleled.  You have to hear it to believe it.

Bari Bari has performed at the San Jose Jazz Festival, City Lights Theater, Hedley Club, Mildred Owens Concert Hall, Jazz at the Improv series and other venues.

Bari Bari members:
Aaron Lington, Fil Lorenz and Geoff Roach - Baritone saxophone
Rhythm section:
Murray Low - Piano
Ken Okada - Bass
Wally Schnalle  - Drums

guest performers include Paul Van Wageningen, Curt Moore, Kevin Higuchi, Kristen Strom and Oscar Pangilinan
